I’ve been teaching IB Environmental Systems and Societies for the past eight years, working with students on everything from ecosystem modelling to sustainability case studies. I also guide Internal Assessments, helping students turn ideas into well-structured investigations. I enjoy showing how environmental issues connect with everyday life rather than teaching them as isolated topics.

Hi! I’m an ESS tutor who likes making tricky topics feel much more manageable. I usually work with students who need help organising revision or planning their IA from scratch. Biodiversity and conservation are probably my favourite areas to teach because they always lead to interesting discussions during lessons.

I currently tutor IB ESS full time after several years working in environmental consultancy. My lessons focus on understanding the links between natural systems and human activity rather than memorising facts. I also spend plenty of time on exam technique, especially explaining how to structure longer responses for higher marks.

My lessons are relaxed and practical. We work through diagrams, real examples and plenty of past-paper questions so nothing feels too overwhelming before exams. Quite a few of my students come to me for help with the IA, and I enjoy helping them shape research questions that are realistic and interesting to investigate.

I have over a decade of experience teaching environmental science and preparing students for IB assessments. Alongside content review, I support learners with data analysis, evaluation skills and Internal Assessment writing. My aim is to help students understand the reasoning expected by IB examiners across every topic in the syllabus.

I first started tutoring while completing my postgraduate studies and quickly realised how much I enjoyed working with IB students. ESS is such an interesting subject because it brings together science, geography and global issues. Every lesson is tailored to what the student is covering at school rather than following a fixed plan.
